Pinguicula corsica is only found in Corsica, but it is common and there are no signs of the existing threats causing a population decline. It is therefore classed as Least Concern.

Pinguicula corsica is endemic to Corsica (France) with European-Orophytic origins. It is a common species in the central mountains of Corsica, although less abundant in other parts of the island.

Pinguicula corsica is known from more than 30 localities in Corsica (33). The last observations at the site of Sellola were made in 2007. The populations seem to be affected by the hydrological conditions, but a decline could not be quantified. The populations don't seem to be threatened by the deterioration of their habitat.

The species is found in "pozzine" (shallow pools), peat and grass around lakes, runnels, and "fruticées naines" (shrubland) or lands from 1,150 to 1,900 m of altitude. It grows on granite (granodiorite and monzogranite) and granitic glacial sediments.

The habitat is subject to increasing trekking that includes more pedestrian passage on pozzines and higher risk of fires. Therefore there are more guards from the Natural Park around the different lakes. A future reduction in grazing pressure will lead to a change in the species composition and dynamics and shrub vegetation, that might compete with P. corsica, will appear. Disturbance by wild boar, which dig the soil, may affect on this species. However, at present the global population is not considered to be threatened.

This plant was used as medicinal plant in the past, against feet fungi, but is not used anymore.

The species is not legally protected. It is assessed as Least Concern in both the France national Red List (UICN France et al. 2018) and for the Corsica Red List (Liste rouge régionale de la flore vasculaire de Corse). Surveillance of the existing sites is done by guards from the Regional Natural Park of Corsica and the Botanical Conservatory of Corsica. The search for new sites is underway. Monitoring of the population dynamics and research on the species' biology, resilience and conservation requirements are needed. Furthermore, seeds for ex situ conservation should be collected.
