Noccaea graeca has an area of occupancy of less than 500 km², with most of the localities where this species grows being found inside protected areas and the species currently facing habitat conversion threats of limited scope posed by the renewable energy industry and its associated infrastructure, as well as traditional farming practices. Therefore, the species is assessed as Least Concern.

Noccaea graeca is a plant species endemic to Peloponnese in southern mainland Greece, where it can be found in several small populations in most mountain massifs of the peninsula such as Chelmos-Vourraikos, Panachaiko, Kyllini, Taygetos and Parnonas (Dimopoulos et al. 2022, Strid and Tan 2002). It has an estimated area of occupancy of 208 km², its total population distributed in at least 40 and upwards to 50 subpopulations covering an extent of occurrence of 8,208 km².

No population data (total number of mature individuals, subpopulation sizes, estimated change) is available for this species. It has been observed that the species is quite local, with every population found numbering no more than 100 mature plants (Constantinidis pers. comm.).

Noccaea graeca is a perennial hemicryptophyte (low growing plant, visible mostly during vegetative and reproductive growth) that can be found growing in open coniferous (Abies cephalonica, Pinus nigra) forests and stony calcareous slopes and ridges, occasionally at the edges of cultivated fields, in the submontane and montane vegetation zones at altitudes of (450-)1,000–2,100 m (Strid and Tan 2002).

Some of the areas that hold populations of this species in its northern and western limits of extent (e.g. in Panachaiko mountain) have been slated for the construction of extensive renewable energy installations, with several projects close or right at the sites where this species grows currently in various stages of approval, construction and function, leading to the degradation of its habitat and the possible loss of individuals in a sizeable portion of its range. Another ongoing threat of minor importance is the possible destruction of populations of the species growing close to cultivated fields. Other plausible threats that could impact the species in the future include the loss of individuals and/or populations due to the widening and/or maintenance of roads, especially in the areas close to renewable energy installations and human settlements.

Noccaea graeca is protected by National Greek Law 3937/2011 as an endemic taxon. Most of the localities where this species grows are found in areas that are part of the Natura 2000 sites network, with some of the westernmost populations of the species not included in any protected area. The species is currently not conserved ex situ in any botanical garden or seed bank (0 accessions in total according to the BGCI). More detailed information about the species' populations and the impact of ongoing threats on them would be useful for its conservation.
